Marengo Academy has enjoyed a reputation for a strong academic program, and the faculty and staff continues this committement. Faculty stability has contributed to this success and ours teachers continue working toward advanced degrees. The Board of Directors is committed to improving salaries in an effoert to help with recruitment and retention of teachers. Student achievement is important to our teachers. The high school offers both an advanced and general curriculum that follows the Alabama Course of Study. Students are encouraged to take advantage of special programs offered such as tutoring, ACT test preperation classes, art classes, and vocational training at Marengo County Technology Center. The elementary school has basic core curriculum consising of reading, language, spelling, social studies, physical education, and math. Enrichment classes are conducted in accelerated reading, accelerated math, computer, and art. |
